Educating the Next Generation of Anesthesia Providers

Rachel and Dr. Colliton

At the New Britain School of Nurse Anesthesia we are committed to excellence in the education of nurse anesthetists.  We ensure that each graduate excels professionally through an intensive graduate level program incorporating a comprehensive clinical training practicum.

Our academic curriculum and clinical experiences encompass the entire anesthetic period including pre-anesthesia assessment, intra-operative management, post-operative care and adjuvant anesthesia services.  This diverse array of clinical situations provides our graduates a sound foundation for the practice of competent and safe anesthesia care.

HIGHLIGHTS
__________________________

The New Britain School of Nurse Anesthesia partners with Hartford Hospital for the latest innovations in anesthesia training and crisis management.

In step with leading academic centers and national anesthesia trends, our students participate in simulation training as an adjunct to clinical and didactic instruction. State of the art simulation training is provided in an operating room setting with up-to-date equipment and the SimMan high fidelity simulator.

This highly sought after clinical experience enables our students to acquire the technical, leadership and teamwork skills required to effectively respond to the challenges of  high acuity - low occurrence anesthesia scenarios, such as malignant hyperthermia, shock, MI, anaphylaxis, and difficult airway/intubation.
